Pant Glas, Tredegar
Pant Glas, Tredegar, features a range of attractive two and three bedroom town houses, just a short walk from Bryn Bach Park with its lake, leisure and picnic areas.
All homes are finished to a very high standard, featuring low maintenance materials on external finishes. Heating and energy saving is a key feature, as each house has levels of insulation in excess of normal building regulation requirements.
Purchasers received a Gas Warm Certificate, guaranteeing the highest standards of specification for central heating and hot water.
The name "Pant Glas' (Green Hollow) resulted from a competition run in conjunction with local schools, and was the name of the farm house that originally stood on the site.
Rejuvenation of Tredegar
Pant Glas formed part of a major scheme regenerating the Central Area of Tredegar. The development was situated on a previously derelict land, adjacent to the commercial and retail area of Tredegar.
The overall development produced a wide range of housing, together with offices, shops and a large food store. Major improvements to the existing highway, footpaths and street lighting were also undertaken. The scheme had an uplifting effect on Tredegar, bringing new life to the central area and a greatly improved confidence in the town.
The central area scheme was strongly supported by Blaenau Gwent Borough Council as the original owners of the site, and by the Welsh Office in the form of an Urban Investment Grant.
